Alex Stafa has continued his outstanding cricketing success this time in the AW Green Shield - competition.
The AW Green Shield is described as the NSW Premier Cricket's U/16 competition and forms part of the Club Championship. Many NSW and Australian players have emerged from this competition, including Steven Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc,
Alex is playing for Northern Districts in the competition and last weekend he become the sole Hunter Valley junior to reach the semi finals for their respective sides. Northern Districts defeated Sydney in the qualifying round.
According to the Hunter Valley Junior Cricket Council Maitland's Joe Hancock who plays for Sydney and Tom Thorpe's Western Suburbs were unfortunate going down to Gordon it therefore now means Alex is the sole Hunter Valley player left in the semis. Whilst the highlight for the Hunter Valley supporters in the Northern Districts' win over Sydney was Joe's audacious attempt to reverse ramp Alex only to have his leg stump uprooted (Alex 3/31).
