His performance was Tiger Woods like as his nett 62 obliterated the field by a whopping four strokes.
The August Monthly Mug was proudly sponsored by Club stalwarts Bill Thompson and Ken Lawson.
Ken’s slow recovery from recent surgery has caused him to be a rare slighting on the course
however he did compete on the day and returned a reasonable score. Thanks to Bill and Ken for their great support.
Chris Harris was the A grade winner with a nett score of 69. Chris is more regularly seen fishing at the beach these days, but it’s always great having him on the course showing off his talent.
Mick Williams also fired a 69 but was beaten by the dreaded count back.
Alan Holz took home the A grade scratch prize with a 77; a score produced in very windy conditions and a real testament to his skill.
B grader Sean Britton returned a great score of 66 for a well deserved win.
His victory was an easy one beating home Adam Egas on even par 69.
Sean Britton also took away B grade’s scratch award for his 81.
Dean Thomson from the Wingham Golf Club was our C grade winner.
His 71 finished one better than Col Fogarty’s 72. The scratch prize was given to Michael Duffie for his fine score of 90.
The novelty prize this week was awarded to the players with the least number of putts during their round.
There was a three way tie on 27 putts and a count back decided the winner.
First place went to Brad Kelly. Then followed Alan Holz, Chris Harris, and Martin Goadsby.
This Saturday’s event is a 4BBB Stableford. The time sheet still has plenty of vacancies as about 20 Singleton golfers make their annual trek to Gloucester. We wish them well.
The 2013 Holden Scramble is once again attracting a lot of interest. The time sheet is nearing capacity and all interested players should ensure they are entered. All players are requested to check their groups and times are correct.
