All grades had winning scores in the 40 plus point range with C grade being an absolute stand out.
C grader Pete Thomas gave the field a lesson in golfing finesse.
This powerful long striding giant cruised the course amassing 47 of Dr. Stableford’s finest! Pete’s handicap has unfortunately been decimated and his new handicap could have him struggling.
Current Singleton Smash Repairs Monthly Mug holder, Chris Duffie ran into more great form to take out the runner up prize with 43 points.
The hard luck story of the day was all about Nathan McDonald who fired 42 points in C grade to win a solitary golf ball and lose five strokes from his handicap!
Mitchell Butler took out A grade with a very impressive display. Mitchell’s winning score of 41 points was produced from one of the only sub-par rounds in recent months; a one under par 68.
Chris Boyce also had a fine 41 point score but was knocked into second place on a count back.
The club’s most monstrous hitter of a golf ball, Liam Storey smashed the opposition in his grade.
His B grade winning score was 41 points and beat home runner up Darren Frazer on 37. Both these players are to be congratulated on finding a real consistency in their game.
There was no real surprise when Peter Thomas was announced as the winner of the Secret 9 event.
Pete’s 23 points was victorious over Liam Storey (22), Nathan McDonald (22), and Mitchell Butler (21 c/b).
This Saturday’s tournament is the annual Foursomes Championships.
This game has players playing alternate shots and can be a real challenge.
And to keep with the team golfing theme, the annual Holden Scramble is being played on Sunday. There are still a few spaces available on the time sheet, so give Les a call for a booking or pop into the Clubhouse to enter through the touch screen.
