She is the leading wicket taker in the Sydney Cricket Association Women’s second grade competition but this week talented spin bowler Taylah Knight is taking part in the New South Wales All Schools Secondary Girls Cricket Championships.

The carnival is being held in Bathurst and the 16-year-old is a member of the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Open Girls team.
Her selection will also go down in history as she is the first female student from St Cath’s to gain a spot in the side. This caps off another stellar rep season that saw Knight earn a spot in the ACT/ NSW Country U18’s squad after representing Central North at the country championships. Although she did not make the final cut, Knight attended all the training camps in the lead up to the U/18’s female national championships.
She describes the experience as “pretty intense” and one that will put her in good stead when it comes to next season. As for this “identified talent” her impressive form will no doubt see her promoted to 1st grade in the Sydney competition.
