Three scholarships will be offered to cover travel and conference expenses for the 2018 Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy. This important conference brings together 7,000 farmers, chefs and food advocates from 143 countries every two years. The public portion of Salone del Gusto features more than 900 food exhibitors and attracted over 1 million visitors in 2016.
The scholarships on offer are:
1. Young Hunter Valley Farmer scholarship is for Hunter Valley farmers between 18-35 years of age who can demonstrate sustainable farming practices and the good, clean and fair production of food in our area.
2. Hunter Valley Chef scholarship is open to all chefs working in the Hunter Valley who can demonstrate a longstanding and strong commitment to sourcing local, seasonal produce for their menus.
3. Earth Market Farmer/Producer scholarship is open to all farmers or producers who have been regular Earth Market stallholders since May 2017.
