With all first grade matches called off, due to wet wickets, the third’s battle at Albion Park went ahead on Saturday.
And, Gore made the most of the situation to capture his 300th wicket for JPC.
He became the third player to achieve the feat, following in the footsteps of Brett “Snowy” Stokes and Dean Zanardi (dec).
JPC set a moderate 101, courtesy of Mardys Uys (25) and Robie Hedges (24).
In reply, Glendon appeared to be in the box seat at 4-78.
But, the team lost its final six scalps for just 21 – to fall shy of the target.
For his part, Gore collected 2-10 off two overs, dismissing top scorer Austin Maher (50) and G. Burns (6).
“I’m proud of the achievement,” he said.
“However, I guess it’s a game of attrition, especially if you play long enough.
“I let the kids bowl more these days – they’re the future of cricket.
“I’ll admit, Austin [Maher] had us in trouble.
“Luckily, I removed him with the first ball I bowled [at him], an inswinger.
“The match changed dramatically after he left the middle.”
