A REPORT is being prepared for the Coroner following an accident, which claimed the life of a motorcyclist, at Belford on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to the New England Highway, between Bell Road and the Golden Highway intersection, after a motorcycle and two cars collided shortly before 7.30pm.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District rendered assistance; however, the 50-year-old rider died at the scene.
All southbound traffic on the New England Highway was closed at the Golden Highway for several hours, while northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane.
Members of the Crash Investigation Unit were also in attendance.
