Jerrys Plains Public School sprinter Braith White remains as the one to watch after he already took out the national 100m sprint title in September.
His time of 12.58 in the final, held in Darwin, would guide him to gold by a whisker over his opponents Oscar Irankeje (Queensland) 12.67 and Bill Gbeindeh (Queensland) 12.88.
Though he also recorded a time of 12.54 in the heats he will need to top Robert Boateng's 11.97 (set in 1998) to break the all time record for his age group.
MEANWHILE Singleton Public School sprinter Lachlan Muddiman will compete in the 12 years and under 100m sprint.
Other promising talents from the region include Dakota Evans, Seth Baker, Jada Fraser, Luca Santry, Maben deSomer, Sophie Stenton, Kaiden Boldery, Eden Hampstead, Seren Hall, Kai Baker and Johnathon Penton.
"Jono will have a busy couple of days because he is running the 100, 200 and relay as well as the high jump," Singleton Striders athletics coach Hilary Kennedy explained.
"Seren Hall is representing for the first time in the 100 and 200 multiclass.
"She has been training with me since zone and I'm really proud of her progress."
Santry will tackle the 100m sprint for the second year and will proudly represent King Street Public School in the relay with her teammates Evans, deSomer and Stenton.
"They have been training together each week and are really excited to have a good run and represent their school," she added.
"They will all give their very best and be wonderful and proud ambassadors of our town."
