Earlier this year our AA winner Andrew Garvie was selected for the Australian Clay Target Association national championship hosted by the West Australian Gun Club in August.
Garvie's discipline was the ACTA Sporting event.
Held over two days with 100 targets a day shot over four different ranges with five stands on each range and there was five targets on each stand with three double barrel targets and one pair of targets of each stand.
The three events included ACTA Sporting Clays Championship (over 100 targets on the Saturday), the Commonwealth Sporting Clays Championship (the 100 targets on the Sunday) and the national championship (over the 200 targets).
There was also the state team event over the 200 targets as well for the three man state teams.
The ACTA select a five man team to got to the World Championships which are held every two years.
Sadly this year, there wasn't to be an Australian team selected.
A big thank you to Anne, Robyn, Kate, Julie Ollie for the great food and service in the kitchen and to Julie, Denis, George and Will for looking after the office.
A massive thank you must also be given to all our helpers that setup for the shoot as well as keeping the traps filled and working.
The next shoot will be our Christmas shoot on Sunday, December 8 when good prizes and novelty events will be offered.
If you are interested in finding out more about the next shoot or clay target shooting in general, our club would welcome new shooters.
Practice has changed for daylight savings and is on every Wednesday from 10am until dark.
