The Singleton sporting complex, which boasts 300 members, was taken off the court for a six-week period due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
But, now, it's business as usual, according to president Craig Miles.
"Although there are still a few restrictions in place, like no shaking of hands, we're virtually back to normal," he said.
"Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday social tennis has resumed, while we have limited numbers (25 maximum) for the Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night competitions.
"Coaching's also returned every afternoon.
"We've implemented a couple of things, too, to make it safer for everyone.
"For example, players will notice sanitisers around the clubhouse - even when COVID-19 disappears that won't change.
"At the end of the day, it's just great to see people, especially the kids, playing again."
Miles admitted the recent enforced break had created a bit more interest in tennis.
"We were allowed to come back, we could play singles (two people per court), while other sports couldn't," he said.
"So, that's definitely helped us.
"We're still taking names for coaching and competition, which is very pleasing."
One new welcome addition to the club, which celebrated its 110th anniversary in March, is a $3500 ball machine.
"We received a generous grant from Glencore - and we can't thank them enough," Miles said.
"It's a great aid for our coaches Roger Lee, Cameron Phillips and Mitchell Ryan.
"Roger boasts more than two decades of experience, while Cameron and Mitchell are extremely enthusiastic.
"The ball machine can be hired at any time, while it's free to all junior members during the day.
"We're looking at a number of other upgrades around the facility as well, including a new ceiling.
"Howe Park is also hoping to host some tournaments, including the UTR Super Series Northumberland, in August or September.
"That's definitely a step in the right direction."
