Three years after the main access road to the new Bridgeman Ridge residential area first broke-up and became almost impassable, Glass Parade was opened Monday July 25 with final line marking completed Tuesday July 26.
The works started on the June 30 and included installation of sub soil drainage to the central media, removal of chicanes within road reserve and a full depth asphalt replacement.
Despite some wet weather delays, Singleton Council says the project went according to plan with the works taking less than four weeks to complete.
Singleton Council’s Manager of Executive Projects Gary Thomson says the Glass Parade works went to plan and the road is now open to traffic.
“A full-depth asphalt rectification method was used in order to ensure a longer pavement life and to minimise impact on the community during construction,” he says.
“Council has inspected the site since its opening and is happy with the standard of work.
“Council appreciates the community’s patience during these works and we are delighted to have the road fully opened and repaired.”
