The competition that slowly builds pressure during the round – the Stableford Countdown – was played last Saturday.  An individual Stableford was also played in conjunction. Chris Harris played in the final grouping on the day and brought in a fine card of 41 points to win the singles event. Harris’ front nine of 23 points was the real standout of his round.  The winning team of Fred Erdman, Dave Thomson, Tim Dunn, and Nigel McKenzie shot a score of 96 points to take away the silver ware. The runner’s up on 95 points were Adam Ferguson, Brad Kelly, Chris Harris and Les Bennett. Tim Dunn, Ray Langdon, Gary Edwards, and Les Bennett were the best in the secret competition. Our second Holden Scramble of the year was played on Sunday and featured another tight finish.  Chris Harris made it a weekend to remember by teaming with Michael Storey, Chris Skilton, and Wayne Orr to win the event. This team advances to the Scramble Regional final being played in March 2018. The time sheet for this Saturday’s December Monthly Mug is on the touch screen now. The event is sponsored by Valley Hydraulics.  It is also the annual Mug of Mugs play and any winner of a Monthly Mug in 2017 that plays on the day is eligible to win that prize.
