And, on track to see her impressive victory, was Coolmore’s Australian boss Tom Magnier.
Lady Of Shalott was bred on Coolmore and is raced by a syndicate headed by Magnier.
“She is special not only because we bred her on the farm but because she is by Camelot,” he said.
“Camelot only shuttled here for the one season.
“He is back in Ireland and not shuttling.”
Lees, who made a rare appearance at the meeting, said Lady Of Shalott may go to the Listed Woodlands Stakes for fillies at the second day of the Scone carnival.
“Scone will be a step up in class for her, but she is a nice filly and deserves a shot at a race like that,” Lees said.
Singleton jockey Aaron Bullock said he was impressed with the filly.
“When I asked her to put them away she responded well,” he said.
Bullock settled the filly in third place to the turn, but she exploded away in the straight to win by two and quarter lengths from Lu’s In Charge.
This was not the first Muswellbrook meeting that Magnier has attended, despite his enormous job managing the huge stud at Jerrys Plains.
“I have been to a few meetings here and this is one of the best tracks in the state,” he said.
“This is our home track, it is a great track and more trainers should be coming here.”
