Police have linked the man charged for break and enter at the Daracon construction to the break and enter at a retail premises located on George Street on September 12.
Reports claim a quantity of cash was stolen from the premises.
*EARLIER STORY*
Local Police have confirmed several break and enters across multiple locations in Singleton over the weekend.
Police were called to a break and enter at the ‘Gowrie Gates’ Daracon construction site at 2am Sunday morning and located a male person hiding nearby.
Police arrested and charged the male with break, enter and steal, trespassing and goods in custody.
They later identified the man as a 32-year-old from Wallsend. He has been been refused bail and will appear before Cessnock local court on September 19 via AVL (Audio Visual Link).
Singleton police are also looking into several other break and enters over the weekend at locations including the Singleton Greyhounds club house at Pirtek Park, Entire Concrete at McDougalls Hill, Australian Christian College on Kelso Street and Singleton Dry Cleaners.
Police confirmed that mainly cash was the theft target at each of these locations.
“The arrest over the weekend was a good result for Singleton Police however we are still investigating into the several other break and enters. We are concerned at the number of break and enters in the one weekend,” explains officer-in-charge Jo Schultz.
