These are wise words from Singleton Lions club member Margaret Walton who will be co-ordinating Singleton’s Driver Reviver program at Townhead Park.
“We want to see an many volunteers as possible this year,” she explains.
The program sees volunteers assisting drivers passing through the town during the holiday season through the serving of coffees and biscuits.
During this period they estimate between 500 and 600 people utilise the stop and operates out of the kiosk in the Visitor Information Centre.
The Singleton Lions club has been running this initiative since one of their members, Larry Kendall, came up with the concept in 1985.
Volunteers will be required on the following dates:
Friday December 21
Saturday December 22
Monday December 24
Wednesday December 26
Thursday December 27
Friday December 28
Saturday December 29
Monday December 31
Tuesday January 1
Tuesday January 25
Friday January 28
If you would like to assist during this peak period please contact Margaret Walton on 0423 064 777.
