"We had eight first choice first grade players unavailable today which puts it into perspective," Willoughby told the Singleton Argus.
"Mitchell Bradley has only played for two weeks, Jake Ball has hardly played at all due to work commitments and during the week we had Tomas Hume play but he can't play on the weekend due to work commitments.
"So if you had said to me on Thursday during selection that we would win 2-0 I would have said you're dreaming and I would have also asked you for the lotto numbers."
The Strikers held a modest 1-0 lead at the main break after striker Joe Civello cast an end to his six week drought in front of goal.
He then amplified his celebrations when scoring his side's following goal on the Southern end.
"In my view Joey's played better but his outcome and his execution was pretty good; he deserves a mention," Willoughby added.
Kahibah dominated field position and possession of the ball throughout the Howe Park affair.
Yet they would be held goalless.
Club legend Dave Andrews highlighted how it was Singleton's first clean sheet of the season; a feat Willoughby also applauded.
"Considering the amount of time Kahibah had the ball it was a great achievement," he continued.
"To be fair they (Kahibah) probably didn't execute but we had a teenager (Tyler Morris) in goal for the last few minutes and he only played his first senior game earlier that day while filling in for the under-23 side.
"We have 42 registered players for all the senior grades yet only 26 made themselves available for today and you need 33 to field three teams at a minimum.
"That really puts things into perspective.
"Oran (Marzol) played three games today, Nick (Watson) played two games with a couple of minutes in between with the 23s and Tyler played a full game in the 23s.
"Credit to all these boys given the amount of boys who made themselves unavailable today while standing here watching."
Post-match, Morris and fellow senior debutant Isaak Small proudly posed for a photo to mark their historic first grade debut.
"I wouldn't have exposed them to this level if we had two to three more players available," he concluded.
