Club stalwart and dual SDCA first grade player of the year Dan Oldknow proved to be the catalyst when collecting three late wickets in the run chase at Cook Park 1.
Each dismissal would be cheered by the small crowd gathered for the club's past players' day.
PCH now appear set to claim the minor premiership gathered the line-up is able to account for at least one of their remaining two fixtures (against Creeks and Glendon).
MEANWHILE grand final contender Creeks granted opponents JPC a sneak peak of its upcoming finals campaign when captain Gavin Wake and Hamid Arain opened the run chase.
By the time Wake was caught by Shane Givney (reigning first grade player of the year) the duo had already combined for 102 of the side's required 140.
Earlier in the piece Dan Tracey attempted to claim his first hat-trick in the top tier since the 2017/18 season and was awfully unlucky not achieve the feat welcoming Dave Moorcroft to the crease.
He would finish with 4/17 in an impressive display.
Ultimately, the absence of Greg and Alex Thrift would cripple JPC's line-up and, as a result of the weekend's loss, extend the club's ongoing first grade premiership drought for another season.
This week PCH will take on Creeks in the first vs. third match and, if its anything like their Round 2 meeting, we're due for a thriller.
Greg and Alex Thrift look set to return for JPC this week to face off against their former club Glendon in the remaining fixture.
