Kirkton Public School principal Mark Douglas and his three Year six students Jesse Gallegos, Isabella Farrelly and Nicole Searles joined the local organisation.
An invite was also sent to the pupils’ mums, which made for an enjoyable afternoon tea.
Botswana is the CWA’s feature country in 2014.
And, a colourful display showcased 12 posters in all.
The students also read out some valuable information on Botswana, which was very impressive.
Well done Year six – and thanks must go out to the teacher, Ms Maxwell, for all of her help in organising the display with the children.
On the day, members sampled biscuits from Botswana and tried a favourite drink of ginger ale.
Everyone came away with more knowledge of the country.
Thanks to all for attending the club’s International Afternoon Tea at Lower Belford.
The local branch meets at Lower Belford on the second Thursday of each month, except January.
The group’s aim is to serve its communities to the best of their abilities and it supports a medical research fund each year.
The members take on handicrafts, cookery and international studies, while also promoting environmental and agricultural issues, and how people can best use the land.
The hall is located in Corinda Drive, Lower Belford, and the meetings start at 10am and usually finish about noon.
If any ladies would like to find out about the activities, enjoy some good conversation, with much laughter and a great morning tea, please come along.
