After bringing home a silver medal from the Australian Little Athletics Championships in April, he has been selected in the U14’s NSW Country Junior Rugby Union side.
He is now a junior Cockatoo after representing the Hunter Wildfires during the recent U12’s-U14’s Country Championships in Nowra.
The outside back says his team was undefeated during the competition – they only had two tries scored against them.
This latest representative honour means the all-rounder will have to juggle athletics with union.
The St Cath’s College student just competed at his school carnival and is off to the next level.
Last year this representative pathway kept him busy until December when it culminated in an appearance at the Australian All Schools (AAS) Athletics Championships.
So if all goes to plan it’s going to a busy winter combining the two sports.
Adding to the busy schedule is the fact he is playing club rugby for Maitland due to the Singleton Bulls not being able to form a side.
Although this arrangement has worked out well as five of his new team mates have also been chosen to pull on a Cockatoos jersey. They start their campaign with a training camp at Narabeen from June 30 to July 2 and on the last day they will take on a Sydney Zone side. From here they tour the ACT and then play City on August 5 at Bathurst.
