Our first BBQ is on Sunday August 19 and our second BBQ is Sunday September 2, which is also Father's Day. Along with selling tasty sausages supplied by the Highway Butchers, we will be selling raffle tickets and Cadbury Freddo Frogs.
This year's Relay for Life raffle prize is a four night cruise to Moretan Island, kindly supported by Helloworld Travel Singleton. Coles have very generously donated all of the bread and onions we require for both of our BBQs and we can't thank them enough for their kind support.
This is our sixth year we have been involved with the Cancer Council's Relay for Life and have currently raised just over $55,000 in this time.
We fundraise for the Cancer Council in honour of Stephen McInerney, my husband, who lost his fight with Brain Cancer in October 2015. We aim to raise $8000 this year and we are well on track to smash this goal.
Team McInerney have had generous donations from local coal mines Ashton Coal and Glencore Mt Owen Complex who have proudly supported our team since our first Relay in 2013.
Please come along and buy a sausage sandwich, some chocolates or raffle tickets and support our team so we can help those affected by cancer in the Hunter.
