This year is Heather's third consecutive year creating the plush toys and each year her numbers are growing.
“The plush koalas will go to those who are less fortunate and don’t receive gifts in second and third world countries. It’s simple yet reflects a bit of the culture of where we come from here in Australia” explains Heather.
The koalas will be gifted with other goodies such as stationary, small toys, notepads and other goodies that the children wouldn’t normally have through Samartians campaign, “Operation Christmas Child”.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It partners with local churches in developing nations to reach out to children by providing gift-filled shoe boxes and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoe box gifts, many children are also invited back to participate in The Greatest Journey – an evangelism and discipleship program.
