Gary and Jo Evans from UFIF and Shayne Brumby from PJS are to be congratulated for their ongoing generous support of our Club.
The Mug winner was champion junior Max Stone.
Stone’s nett score of 67 was the day’s best by a healthy margin of 2 strokes.
The A grade winner was Kapunda visitor Michael Orvad who shot a nett score of 69. The evergreen Noel Harden was hot on his heels taking the runner’s up prize with a nett 70.
Playing in the same group were B graders Brett Sterritt and Allan Piggot. Both players returned nett scores of 69 at the end of their rounds with Allan winning on a count back.
Ben Chilcott returned to form to win C grade, firing a nett 70, while super veteran Col Fogarty fell into second place firing a 71.
Scratch winners were: A grade Nathan Bagnall (72), B grade Brett Sterrit (80), and C grade Stone (91).
The day’s best putters were given some golf balls for their efforts. 25 putts from Bagnall was the best while the next three place getters were Mick Orvad (25c/b), Andrew Kibbis (26), and Brad Gardiner (26c/b).
This Saturday’s tournament is an individual Stableford and round 1 of the captains Trophy. With the course continuing to be presented in tip top order this event should attract a large field.
