“The week will provide Girl Guides opportunities for fun, friendship, adventure and exploration, creating memories to last a lifetime,” said Kirsty Bates, Singleton Girl Guides District Manager.
“Girls are being asked to be ‘kind and thoughtful to everyone you meet during Sydney Jamboree’ and ‘to laugh, to play, to eat together, to do the heavy lifting, to share our Guiding Light as Girl Guides,’ Kirsty told us.
Singleton Girl Guide Layla Korff said she was excited to meet guides from overseas.
“It’s definitely going to be a highlight of my adventures with Girl Guides. Camping for a week with over 1000 guides from around the world is exciting,’ Layla explains.
The Australian Girl Guide Jamboree is held once every three years and is rotated between each state and territory.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a huge Girl Guide event in our own state”, Layla told us.
Singleton Girl Guides have been fundraising for the past year to enable local Guides to attend. Thank you to the local businesses and the community who have supported us.
