On Friday morning 14 donations totalling $71 000 were handed out which means over a 31 year period they have given back $1.3 million dollars. Although these selfless volunteers are quick to attribute their success to the Singleton community.
“We have had a great year with record sales, and now record donations, but we could not do it without the support of the community,” says secretary, Robyn Bendeich.
“This year we made donations to some new organisations like the Town Band, Kirkton Public School, Whittingham RFS and the Hunter Valley Catering Brigade.” While regulars like our local nursing homes and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Singleton Support Group were also recipients.
