Conducted this weekend, over Saturday and Sunday from 6.30am, it will enjoy a huge turnout of both competitors and fans, who will come in from all different parts of the state.
The campdraft, which split off from the Singleton Show five years ago because it had grown so much, has this year garnered entries from as far north as Armidale and Kempsey, and as far south as Blayney and Cowra.
Coordinator Mark McNamara said he’s thrilled with the attention the event is receiving, and is looking forward to a successful year.
“More than 1200 entries came in but we can only accept about 650, with the drought a lot of drafts across the state have been called off but we’re still going,” he said.

“There’ll be a nice crowd there, there always is.
“The competitors and their families always come along to watch the show and we get a good support from the public.
“It’s a good community sport.”
Food and drinks will be available on site with a local-run canteen setting up shop, and a coffee van will even be coming along to support the caffeine lovers, or just those who need a pick-me-up at 6.30 in the morning.
McNamara was keen to thank the cattle donors and support staff, acknowledging the event couldn’t go on without their generosity in such a tough time.
He was also thankful for the sponsors, namely their Yancoal, who are the primary backers of the show.
It’s sure to bring in great numbers and will be a great way for families to spend a weekend, especially with free entry for spectators.
