“We’re looking for someone who is going to come in and give the girls some of their energy and time,” she explained.
“We’re also hoping he (or even she) can teach them the skills-based stuff.”
McBride was a member of the Roosters’ inaugural women’s team which participated in the 2016 GE BDAFL competition.
Corey Oldham went down in club history as the first women’s senior coach before the side finished the winter under the guidance of Jai Pursell.
Sadly, the Roosters would only score two goals for the entire season with an average losing margin of 135-points.
The following two seasons would then see Andrew Macpherson step up to the plate and help turn the club’s fortunes around.
The Roosters resurrected a 1-7 start in 2017 to finish eighth thanks to strong wins over Muswellbrook, Cardiff, Newcastle, Wyong Lakes and Warners Bay.
This year the side made history when they celebrated a 103-point win over Port Stephens before making the finals (only to go down to Killarney Vale in their 27-point semi-final defeat).
Now the Roosters hope to welcome a fourth mentor in as many seasons.
“We need to get someone in who has the right fit with the current playing group,” she added.
“If there’s anyone out there with AFL experience then we want to hear from them because we’ve had great coaches in the past and now we’re looking for another one.”
