Singleton gardener Scott Sneddon swung by the offices of the Argus this afternoon urging locals to stay vigilant around their gardens throughout the summer.

“I just wanted everyone to stay alert and warn them to flip their chairs and outdoor furniture before they sit down on them this weekend,” he explained.

“I just flipped my five chairs this afternoon and, as a result, found five redback spiders underneath them.”

“Your child or grandchild may innocently shove their hand through the gaps of the chairs during the holiday season so its for the best to give them a flip around before hand.”

Singleton residents can expect another scorching weekend.
