After several years of growth and maintenance (including the discovery of how great coconut infused shampoo is kudos to his mother), the ten-year-old has decided to 'let go of the fro' and shave it off in front of his whole school.
Lucas hopes to donate a thousand dollars towards the world's greatest shave to help find a cure and raise stigma around blood cancer.
The reasoning behind the goal was driven from an emotional, short video about a young boy named Jacob who had been diagnosed with leukemia at a very young age.
"It makes me sad to think about how some kids get sick so young from cancer," Lucas explained.
"I want to raise money to help find a cure and help these kids, like Jacob, through these tough times."
So far, he has raised over $400 in two weeks and needs your help to reach is goal.
Lucas is no stranger when it comes to fundraising.
Prior to this, Lucas raised $300 for the 'Jump Rope for Heart' foundation, a children's health program that raises awareness around heart disease.
Lucas tells The Argus that he hopes to become a dentist or 'brain doctor' when he grows up.
"I would like to help people when their sick or in trouble but I know that they are very hard jobs to get. You have to be very smart" he tells us.
His favourite subjects in school currently are math, sport, recess and lunch and he also love boxing.
