Unfortunately, the Hunter women would be unable to match Central Coast when going down by 70-points.
The Hunter line-up still managed to hit the scoreboard against Newcastle in the second match as Singleton co-captain Elizabeth Moule found the Hunter's only major in their 5.6 (36) to 1.2 (8) defeat.
Singleton women's ball-winner and club president Nadene McBride also made the trip to Ferodale Park as the club's seventh representative.
She would assist from the sidelines of Ferodale Park in a non-playing role.
"Each of the girls should be proud of making the side," she said.
Newcastle would initially edge out rival Central Coast 6.3 (39) to 2.6 (18) in the group stage.
The powerhouse would then strengthen its defence in the tournament decider when holding off the Central Coast 3.2 (20) to 0.2 (2).
Molly Simpson, who made the move from Nelson Bay to Newcastle City over the pre-season, landed the sealer in the second half.
"We have a solid core group of girls in the team and we really bonded, I think a big difference was how relaxed we were," Newcastle coach Sarah Handley told the media.
Singleton will now play host to Maitland this Saturday at noon.
Maitland officials requested the match was to be changed to Friday night so their girls could attend a popular music festival however the fixture will remain scheduled for the Saturday.
