The 'Cuddle Your Kids' event collected a gold coin donation for entry to a day of family-friendly activities at the Singleton Showground with several local business's and volunteer groups pitching in including the Rapid Relief Team who served up lunch for the community.
All proceeds from the day including the food and drinks sold by the RRT have been donated to the surviving members of the family - Kara, Bayley and Chris.
Lloyd Grimshaw from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church said the tragic loss of the three children had hit the community hard and that local RRT members were eager to support this worthy cause.
"Our hearts go out to the family, and being an organisation that is church-based, we naturally want to do everything we can to support them, in any way we can," Mr Grimshaw said.
The Cuddle Your Kids event included many activities to keep the whole family entertained including a jumping castle, special visitors from the Hunter Valley zoo, animal rides, the Wandering Gypsy Caravan, live entertainment and a raffle to raise further funds.
Blu's School of Dance had several dancers perform solos, duos and group dances to keep the crowd entertained.
"Blu's was more than happy to be involved in the fundraiser as some of our students went to school with the family so it was a no brainer for us," dance teacher Stephanie Noble told The Singleton Argus.
Slumber Parties and Events provided the tee-pee tent set up for a cosy kids activities corner at the fundraiser.
"We were honoured to be involved in with this fundraiser as it hits close to home so we were very keen on doing what we could to support this event," said Slumber Parties and Events owner Rebecca McLennan.
The local fire brigade were also at the grounds with educational activities on bush fire safety, smoke alarms and more.
