The children had earned their place at Regionals after teams finished 1st and 2nd at the Zone Day held at the beautiful Howe Park Tennis Complex.
After the initial five rounds of play, St Catherine's found itself in the enviable position of both teams making the semi finals, playing off for the top two spots that would earn the right to move forward to the State Finals in Sydney.
"The children had a wonderful time, excelling both in their sportsmanship and in their skilled play," St Catherine's Catholic College teacher Nicole Adler told the Singleton Argus.
"It was great to see the team-work from all and the way our returning players from last year used their knowledge and experience to help out new players, and how our new players added extra punch to take both teams to even higher levels."
In the end, the team of William Bailey, Tyler Wetherspoon-Mills, Sam Oliver, Jonah Andrews, Harriet Taylor-Holmes, Lillian-Stanford-Lucas and Brydie Gray, took out 3rd place on the day.
An amazing result given the fact the children were one player down all day and continued on regardless.
The second team did one better than the school's placing last year, this time ending up winners on the day
This means that Tessa McLeod, Chloe Vaughan, Macy Neyland, Lara Gradwell, Beau Hetherington, Ashton Cillero, Harley Harrison and Elijah Campbell head to Sydney to compete against the other top teams from regions across NSW and the ACT this Monday.
