A precautionary boil water alert for parts of Singleton will remain in place until at least Monday, when Singleton Council officers will meet with NSW Health about whether it can be lifted.

The boil water alert was issued for the Glade, Gowrie, Maison Dieu and Hambledon Hill on Monday, and extended to McDougalls Hill on Tuesday following water sampling results received late Monday that showed turbidity above and chlorine levels below the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
The precautionary measure affects about 400 properties.
Bottled water is available for affected residents from Council's Administration Building until approximately 1.30pm today.
It can be collected from Singleton Visitor Information Centre from 1.30pm to 5pm this afternoon, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Please contact Council's Customer Service Team on 02 6578 7290 to confirm details if required.
Katie Hardy, Council's Manager Water and Sewer Network, said crews would be at work over the weekend to clean the system, with a view to households and businesses getting back to normal on Monday.
"Following approval from NSW Health, and all going well, the alert will be lifted on Monday with advice to be published on Council's website, Facebook page and on the variable message board on Maison Dieu Road," she said.
"Advice will also be sent directly to all customers who collected bottled water.
"Council Officers will be working over the weekend to clean and scour the system, as well as conducting regular testing."
Customers may notice:
- Pressure fluctuations in the water supply
- Possible short outages of the water supply
- Elevated chlorine levels in the water supply
- Volumes of water being released from reservoirs and water mains to clean the system to the standard required
Ms Hardy said customers should continue to follow NSW Health's boil water alert advice until they have received advice that it has been lifted.
"Information about what to do when a boil water alert is in place is available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/water/Pages/bwa-what-to-do.aspx and I encourage affected residents to pick up bottled water from Council's Administration Building this afternoon or from the Singleton Visitor Information Centre during usual operating hours over the weekend," she said.
"We appreciate this situation has caused some inconvenience for our customers and appreciate your understanding."
