Barnett, who has been among the top competitors in the past five years, finished runner up in 2018 however he admits he had a campaign to forget when he last competed in his neighbouring city.
"I finished fourth last year; it was probably one of my worst results because the horse I drew just wasn't much good," Barnett told the Singleton Argus this afternoon.
"I guess that happens in the sport."
Regardless of the result, it will be a quick turnaround for the Singleton based rider who will then compete in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association's Wagga Wagga Rodeo.
"The alarm will probably be set at six tomorrow so it will be an action-packed weekend," he concluded.
