The group meets on Thursday mornings at the Branxton Uniting Church Hall, and was formed in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown to allow women to create new friendships, learn new skills and share stories, expertise and passions.
"We started this group just after the first COVID-19 lockdown restrictions lifted as we saw a need for people to reconnect face-to-face again," shed coordinator Buffy Jay said.
"So many people in our community have not been able to access technology or have been feeling isolated for a number of reasons."
The shed's members are aged 25 to 90, and enjoy crocheting, knitting, sewing, and of course, a good chat.
Members have been working on beautiful handmade items for their stall at Branxton's Christmas Twilight Market next Saturday.
The market will be held at Branxton Community Hall from 4pm to 8pm, and the women's shed stall will have items ranging from $20 to $40.
The women's shed meets at 9.30am every Thursday at the Uniting Church hall in Drinan Street, Branxton.
The group will hold a Christmas party on December 10, and break over Christmas and New Year, resuming February 4 (with quilting lessons its first activity for 2021).
