The collaboration between HMRI, Coal & Allied and council aims to uplift the quality of life and increase motivation within the community.
“It’s a great opportunity to inform people about various activities and services in the Singleton area that cater to monitoring and improving health and wellbeing,” Mrs Hyam said.
“We want them to be more conscious about that aspect of their lives.
“Singleton has some serious statistics in regards to obesity and diabetes, for example.
“That’s why the free health expo is taking place between 1pm and 6pm – so people can drop in after work or school.
“It will promote healthy eating, active living and safe communities.”
Health screenings and on-site testing for blood pressure, bone density, body mass index, diabetes, hearing and much more will be available to everyone, as well as chances to book in for off-site testing.
Researchers from different HMRI programs will speak about the latest discoveries and therapies across many diseases, including prostate cancer, nutrition, depression, drugs/alcohol and stroke rehabilitation.
Children won’t miss out either, with a Kid’s Play Zone and jumping castles.
“We introduced the health expo last year,” Mrs Hyam said.
“But, we have a goal for it to become a significant event on our calendar.
“It’s not too late to man a stall tomorrow; phone events and marketing officer Rachael Thomson on 6575 3913.”
