To celebrate the occasion, the facility is hosting a fun-filled free community event for families at Alroy Park between 10am and 1pm.
It will showcase everything playgroup has on offer through a range of inclusive activities; giving children a chance to connect and learn through play.
“We’re excited to bring local families together to celebrate World’s Biggest Playgroup Day,” Singleton Heights Playgroup coordinator Emma Phillips said.
“We encourage everyone to come on down and join us for some family fun.”
Jam-packed with activities, the event will offer face painting, a Playgroup NSW playdough station, balloon fun with Crikey the Clown, community market stalls, a jumping castle and a petting zoo.
Peppa Pig and Elsa from Frozen will also make a special appearance to meet the kids.
Playgroup NSW CEO Karen Bevan said World’s Biggest Playgroup Day acknowledges the vital role of playgroup for families.
“Playgroup provides opportunities for children 0-5 to socialise and connect with other children, which is important for their development,” she said.
“It also offers a chance to learn through diverse and engaging play.
“This is the first year a World’s Biggest Playgroup Day has been run in Singleton, following Playgroup NSW’s decision to expand the event into regional NSW.
“Singleton was awarded the funds to run the event off the back of an enthusiastic pitch from the dedicated local playgroup.”
Families who register with Playgroup NSW on the day will go in the draw to win a $200 Crayola pack.
Current members can refer a friend to enter the draw to win a $250 voucher.
