The sale conducted by Pitt Son with Paul Dooley at the rostrum resulted in a total clearance of the 26 bulls offered by Bruce and Helen Scrivener, ‘Springvale’ Yarrowitch. This year’s average was $2284 up on the 2016 sale. Top price of $9000 was paid for five lots including by the Rudder family, Valla for a herd bull . Other top priced buyers were Steven Smith, Wingham and the Partridge family, Walcha for two bulls. James Lyon, Nowendoc a first timer buyer secured four bulls for his herd. Local buyers the Pointing family secured four lots for a top of $8000. Bonny Brooke stud has made great use of Booroomooka genetics in their herd and many of this year’s top priced lots were sired by Booroomooka Yogi G114.
At this year’s Wingham Beef Week a Bonny Brooke bred steer was awarded grand champion carcase.
