With just over a month to go the Singleton Tidy Towns Garden Committee is asking local residents to consider entering the 2018 Competition despite the hot weather. The variety of categories allows participation for a wide range of gardens including household, shared accommodation, community, education and business. A good neighbours’ category and household vegetable garden are also included. The Committee looks forward to seeing the entries in this year’s Novelty section “A Garden in a shoe”; a section open to even the youngest gardener.

It’s important to remember all gardens are in the same boat when it comes to weather effects and judges will take this into consideration. With wonderful sponsorship again, this year’s competition has some great prizes including cash and items. Entries close on March 16 with judging taking place on March 20. The presentation will be held on March 23 at 6.30pm at the Grand Hall in Mechanics Institute, 74 George St. Entry forms can be collected at the Singleton Argus, L J Hooker and Kirkwood’s Produce.
