A Biobank is a large collection of biological tissues which are collected and stored for research purposes. The Hunter Cancer Biobank has samples donated by over 10,000 Hunter patients which forms an essential resource for cancer researchers.
Within the wider HCB, the Mark Hughes Foundation Brain Bank is a state of the art research facility that provides resources to local brain cancer research teams and the international research community.
Les Mis is Cassandras first show back with SATS since moving back to Australia and she was thrilled when Director Jonathan Vickers and the cast as a whole came on-board to support the Mark Hughes Foundation.
"The MHF have done so much for the Biobank, we wouldn't be here without their unwavering support" says Cassandra.
"It was really important to me that we do something to reciprocate that support and we were lucky enough to have SATS and the cast of Les Mis behind us! The SATS community have always been beyond supportive of their members and of worthy causes so I'm incredibly grateful to be part of the group" she adds.
SATS have raised over $1000 for brain cancer research.
This weekend is the final weekend for Les Miserables left and by all accounts this year's production has been a massive success. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.trybooking.com/488983 . There will be a small number of beanies for sale at the show.
