From a blind date with a book, a special love-themed Storytime, to a pop-up Library and Storytime at Singleton Square, there is an array of events planned for people to reconnect with what they love about our library.
Singleton Council's Director Business and Community Services Group Anthony Egan said the library was the best matchmaker around, helping people find the information, book, program, or author they are looking for.
"From the latest book titles, magazines, cake tins, toys, workshops and children's storytime to our state-of-the-art LABrary, our Library is at the forefront of emerging library services and continues to be loved by our local community and beyond," he said.
Mr Egan said the Singleton Public Library has a jam-packed program for the month of February, including the opportunity for members to take home a 'blind date'.
"Our staff have carefully selected books that have been wrapped for borrowers, which will remain anonymous until they are unwrapped at home - it's a great way for people to experience a novel they may not have instantly picked for themselves," he said.
"We are also very excited to be taking the Library to the Singleton Square on 14 February for a free pop up event, which will have a range of library items available to borrow, digital collections to browse as well as an extra special Storytime at the centre's playground.
"February will also see the Library host the Heart of Stories tour author talk - where prominent authors Adele Parks, Fiona Lowe, Alexandra Joel and Vanessa McCausland will talk about the rise of women in fiction and the stories we all love, all served up with wine and cheese.
"There will also be an array of fantastic prizes to be won across the month including audio books and chocolates.
"We hope to see as many people as possible across the month of February choose our Library to be their Valentine."
The Heart of Stories author talk will be held on Wednesday 12 February 2020 from 5.50pm to 7pm. Bookings are free (includes wine and cheese) and can be made via 02 6578 7500.
The Library Lovers Day at Singleton Square will take place on 14 February 2020 from 10am to 4pm.
