Junior Sports clubs and organisations across regional NSW are set to benefit from almost $85,000 in collective funding thanks to Glencore's Junior Sports Development Program (JSDP).

Sixteen junior sporting clubs have received JSDP grants of up to $7,500 each, with the aim of enhancing the sustainability and strength of organisations in the areas around Glencore's coal operations.
Glencore's Community Relations Manager, Craig Strudwick, said that this round's grant recipients reflect the vibrant and diverse mix of local clubs across regional New South Wales.
"We received a high level of interest from a range of sporting clubs for our first round of the New South Wales Junior Sports Development Program," Craig said.
"We're incredibly proud to be able to support 16 of these groups, whether it be by helping them improve their facilities or assisting in the purchase of new training equipment."
"Through our grants, we hope to encourage more young people to get involved, or stay involved, with sporting activities."
Singleton Track & Field Club (STFC) is one of the many organisations to benefit from the first round of grants, having received $2,500 to host a Her Sport, Her Way empowerment session.
Her Sport, Her Way is designed for female athletes aged from 12 to 17 years to promote and encourage participation in sport throughout the teenage years.
"We aim to educate and promote the benefits of local community sport for young women, through the lens of females, to enhance participation in the Singleton community," STFC Championships Coordinator, Angela Penton, said.
The session will be led by a group of sporting women, from a sports psychologist and an Athletics NSW accredited Track & Field coach to a dietitian and life coach.
"This will enable strong, confident young women who have the ability to face daily school and life challenges through the benefits of sport," Angela said.
"We're so grateful to have Glencore's support to host this event and, if successful, hope to roll out sessions for other sports codes to attend in the future."
The next round of Glencore's JSDP grants will open in late 2021.

- $7,500 for a carryall equipment vehicle at Mudgee Junior Rugby League Club,
- $7,500 for an Active Kids ping pong table at Denman Public School,
- $7,179.20 to upgrade athletics equipment at Sandy Hollow Public School,
- $4,439 to upgrade sports equipment at Singleton PCYC,
- $3,950 to purchase new training gear for umpires and coaches at Singleton netball Association,
- $7,500 to host an Advanced Player Pathway Coaching Accreditation Program at Singleton Strikers Football Club,
- $4,176.38 for a dressage arena at Singleton Pony Club,
- $2,259.85 for upgraded equipment at Singleton Australia Football Club,
- $5,000 to resurface the cricket net at Mudgee High School,
- $5,398.20 to renovate the canteen at Muswellbrook Netball Association,
- $7,500 to upgrade technology at Mudgee Gulgong Wolves FC Inc,
- $2,500 for new goal posts at North West Falcons Club in Gulgong,
- $2,399 for a canteen upgrade at Denman Pony Club,
- $7,500 for Track Box timing equipment for Hunter Mountain Bike Association; and
- $2,500 for Her Sport, Her Way Empowerment sessions at Singleton Track & Field Club.
